Sometimes, No Matter How Much You Care, It Still Isn’t Enough

What a terrible, terrible, feeling. To know that no matter how much you care for someone, or how hard you fight to make it work, sometimes, none of that is enough and that person can no longer reciprocate your feelings.

They don’t care enough to compromise, or fight for you. They don’t care enough to put in the work to fix the things that are broken. For them, it is easier to walk away as if you never meant nothing, than to stay and try and fight for something that at one time meant so much to them.

It makes you feel worthless. It makes you feel that your feelings don’t matter and the person you care about does not feel the same way about you.

It leaves you wondering why you aren’t enough. Why is it that you are willing to go to the ends of the earth for this person and they can’t do the same?

How is it that you drop everything to answer their phone call when they are ready to talk while they continue to ignore and ignore your messages until they are the one ready to talk to you?

Why is it so easy for them to walk away while you have the hardest time letting them go?

Why must you feel so strongly for someone who does not feel the same?

It’s not fair. It’s one of the worst parts of dating. Trying to figure out when it’s time to move on and let this person go.

It’s a feeling I can’t quite put into words. It makes you feel like you have to walk away when deep down, all you want to do is stay.

But that’s exactly it. You have to know when it’s time to walk away. You can’t continue to go to the moon and back for someone who wouldn’t do the same. You can’t continue to fight for someone who can’t give you the same in return.

You deserve someone who will go to the end of the earth for you. You deserve someone who will never shut you off, never ignore you and never make you feel like you aren’t worthy of love.
